The title page of the Book of Mormon is a literal translation of the very last leaf of the gold plates.
The second paragraph contains the three-fold purpose of the book:
- “To show unto the remnant of the House of Israel what great things the Lord hath done for their fathers”
- “That [the House of Israel] may know the covenant of the Lord, that they are not cast off forever”
- “To [convince] the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eteral God, manifesting himself unto all nations”
